Harry Chapin Food Bank Donation

Harry Chapin Food Bank Donation

Thanks to SJC Technology, Nick Rinella, Tyler Mattingly (Keller Williams Realtor), Aaron Killian with AKS Mobile Detailing, Amy Campbell with Campbell's Interiors & more, and Alex Ebel with Urban Buzz Coffee, plus contributions from yours truly at 1st Class Delivery, we donated about 600 pounds of turkeys, roughly 20 to 30 birds, to local food pantries this Thanksgiving. Our main beneficiary was the Harry Chapin Food Bank in Fort Myers, along with other local pantries.

In November 2024, Matt saw an ugly Facebook post bashing our local homeless community. Matt used to be homeless himself in 2009 and 2010, after he moved to Alaska from Florida during the housing crash. Because of the kindness and compassion he received from total strangers, Matt was able to get back on his feet. That support helped him become the business owner we know today, the Matt behind 1st Class Delivery. After seeing that post, Matt put a plan into action. The very next day, he went on Facebook and started asking for donations. He asked for shampoo, lotion, and any unopened personal care items people had sitting around. He also began collecting donations to buy knapsacks. 1st Class Delivery added funds of its own to purchase more items. Each “assistance bag” included water bottles, toothpaste and a toothbrush, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, and more. Just a few basics to help people who are really down on their luck and trying to get by. Thanks to the community’s help and support, we put together nearly 100 bags for people in need. These bags were donated and distributed through the Cape Coral Police Department and FK Your Diet in Fort Myers, Florida.
